Alan Curtis Adams was born in Long Beach, California
on Columbus Day. At the young age of 6 he began to display a love
for performing by mimicking and doing impressions of his favorite
musical icon Michael Jackson. He would watch videos to study the
King of Pop's every move. That same week during the Huntington Harbor's
Annual Boat Parade of lights, Curtis, shocking everyone, went out
on the family dock and started performing for all the boats passing
by. To everyone's surprise Curtis generated overwhelming cheers
and a few harbor traffic jams. It was no secret this kid was born
to perform.
At age 7 his father took him to see his first
performance of The Magic of David Copperfield. He was in awe of
someone who was able to create miracles on stage. Completely captivated
by David's performance Curtis became curious about the world of
magic. He was hooked on the idea of making the impossible possible.
So the very next day he and his father were off
to buy his very first magic kit. The next couple of years Curtis
devoted all of his time to learning all he could about the world
of magic, practicing and perfecting his craft.
By age 10 Curtis had began performing at local
birthday parties and various charity events. At 11 he added performing
at restaurants and corporate functions to his variety of work. And
by age 13 he opened his first production company. This gave him
the capability to produce local small events as well as his own
show. He soon became one of the youngest illusionists to perform
in casinos; performing in casinos all over northern Nevada including
the Reno Hilton, The Eldorado, and John Ascuaga's Nugget to name
a few.
While performing at the Cache Creek Indian Casino
at age 16, he answered an add placed in newspapers all over the
world for a international talent search seeking out young, new,
up and coming magicians. The contest was called "The Young
Magicians Showcase" produced by magician Lance Burton and Fox
Television. Approximately one month later Curtis received a letter
in the mail from Lance himself, stating that he was selecting Curtis
to appear in the Young Magician's Showcase and it was going to be
nationally televised.
Upon filming his first television special with
Lance, Curtis then graduated from high school at the age of 17 a
year early to pursue his career and caught the eye of a very prestigious
name in magic, Creative Director Don Wayne. Don is best known for
creating and producing material for David Copperfield's TV specials
as well as his live tours including such tricks as David Copperfield's
Disappearance of the Statue of Liberty, Walking thru the Great Wall
of China, Flying and Vanishing the Orient Express just to name a
few. Don saw something in Curtis that was unique
a potential
that doesn't come around everyday.
From that point on, Don and Curtis have embarked
on a journey to change the face of magic and live entertainment.
They have created a new show currently known as Adrenaline which
is considered to be the definition of modern magic.
One thing's for sure; the near future looks to
be very promising for this hot, young, entertainer.
