Cutting Edge Magician Curtis Adams Unleashes New Era of Magic
Check your old ideas and expectations of magic at the door!
NEVADA (Jan. xx, 2005) - Twenty-year-old, extremist magician, Curtis Adams, explodes onto the stage with his extravagant new show, Adrenaline…Magic that Rocks!, appearing soon in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
"This is the new beginning, the new era of magic. It's magic with attitude," says Adams, an ambitious energetic, likeable, savvy young man, who's been in love with entertaining and magic since age seven. "We're trying some new things that have never been done live on stage before."
Adams injects a style of his own into this production. He brings an extraordinary brand of extreme magic to the stage, featuring dangerous stunts, hot cutting-edge illusions, pyrotechnics and innovative concert lighting.
Adams is all about doing things that no one else has done on stage. Adams performs what he calls insane stunts such as "Wheelies and Endos" on his Ducati Motorcycle. Most Hollywood actors don't perform their own stunts, but Curtis performs all his own stunts, every night.
"There is no room for error. A split second too early or too late and you're history…Just like Columbus," says Adams.
Adams has trained with one of the best extreme stunt riders in the business, Gino Velasquez. "I can't believe how quick this guy learns. This is my life and it's taken me years to learn some of these stunts and Curtis learned it in no time," says Gino. "It's like he has no fear…There's no telling him he can't do something…when he wants it he attacks it at full speed. This is one driven young professional."
Top professionals in the industry put this production together. Adrenaline's director and Co-creator, Don Wayne, is another mastermind behind this production. He was the head Creative Director and Illusion Designer for magician David Copperfield for almost twenty years. Wayne helped to create such mega illusions as making the Statue of Liberty and the Orient Express disappear and walking through the Great Wall of China.
"Years ago, Copperfield and I decided to redefine magic by changing how magic was presented. Today Curtis Adams and I are about to do it again," says Wayne. "However, we are also changing the magic as well. Curtis is good and is picking up where Copperfield left off."
Wayne thinks that Adams has the potential to be the next David Copperfield. He says, "Adams is a unique performer and that comes along only once in a great while. You should see this one-night-only event. It appeals to just about everyone that wants to be entertained."
New, never performed, imaginative, rugged, sexy dance scenes have been incorporated into Adrenaline. Adams utilized the talents of top choreographers, Dan Karaty and Kristin Denehy, who have worked with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Janet Jackson, to name a few.
"What he brings to the stage is like no other. Make sure you check your old ideas and expectations of magic at the door!" says choreographer Kristin Denehy.
Using the latest in modern technology, Adams surges on stage with a featured hot dance number. Adams then defies modern science by cloning himself, over and over again. He also walks straight up one wall, across the ceiling and down the other side. It's the MTV of magic.
Magic is Adams' passion. He graduated from school a year early so that he could go on tour. Honing his talent on college tours, in casinos and on television, Adams has huge experience on his muscular shoulders.
At thirteen Adams started his first production company and at seventeen he was featured as the best young illusionist of the Fox Family Channel special hosted by Las Vegas' own Lance Burton. "I do not know how he got so good at such a young age," said Burton.
The goal of this young performer/entrepreneur is to have the hottest trend-setting show that's both extreme and dangerous. "We are breaking all the rules," says Adams. "The idea is to create a show so hip that it appeals to both adults and young adults. To do this we have to take magic a quantum leap forward by changing the way we present our magic."
"We are changing the way a magician walks, talks and moves," says Adams.
This show appeals to everyone, but many scenes may be too intense for children under ten.
"Nevada prides itself on being 'America's Adventure Place.' My show fits right in with that," says Adams. "We have magic that is like you have never seen before. It's hard to explain, but some people say that what I do is so radical, extreme and excessive that the audience craves more."
This extremist is not holding back and he's ready to roll out the red carpet for Nevada, the Nation and eventually the world. Adams wants to introduce himself to a new generation of magic fans in this ground-breaking performance, coming soon to top venues in Las Vegas and a city near you.
